Out of the Storm is the fourth studio album by Scottish musician Jack Bruce. It was Bruce's first solo effort in over three years and was recorded and released in 1974, following the dissolution of the power trio West, Bruce and Laing. Originally Bruce had wanted to title the album Into The Storm but, according to Bruce, ""we couldn't find any stormy weather. We gave up and instead we found a little wood. 

The album was largely recorded in Los Angeles and San Francisco at the suggestion of engineer Andy Johns, who felt, according to Bruce, that the problem with Bruce's previous work was that he "work(ed) with too many British guys and you need to work with some great American session players and you could make an album in ten days".

Bruce recorded the album while still addicted to heroin (which contributed to the dissolution of West, Bruce and Laing). According to Bruce's songwriting partner Pete Brown, the band ingested PCP during one session and ""they were all holding onto each other walking across the floor--Bobby Keys, Jim Keltner, Andy Johns and Jack. Someone said, 'Don't let go of me or I'll float off into space'. The continued and heavy drug use periodically interfered with completion of the album and engineer Dennis Weinreich was brought in to remix specific tracks so as to complete the album in a timely fashion and because the label wasn't pleased with Johns's mix of the album.

The album peaked at No. 160 on the Billboard al.......

En marzo del 2006 deeppurple mandó el primer volumen del Alternate Pet Sounds Album (Unsurpassed Masters vol. 13). Intentando mejorar la calidad (estaba a 128), sólo hemos conseguido los archivos a 160. Pero hemos encontrado también un Unsurpassed Masters Vol. 14. The alternate Pet Sounds Album, vol. 2, que es el que mando a continuación. Siento que vaya a 160. Igual que el otro volumen, son 4 cds, con sus portadas individuales y una portada del box.

Hemos conseguido los archivos en FLAC (de ambos volùmenes, 13 y 14) y debido a su gran tamaño los hemos pasado a 320 Kbps para ajustarnos al standard de la web. Como curosidad, al revisar los archivos, he visto que no había ninguna versión de la canción posiblemente más conocida de Pet Sounds, ""Sloop John B.""... y es que hay un Unsurpassed Masters vol. 12. The Sloop John B. Sessions. Igual me animo un día de estos.

No hay duda para los que amamos el Pop que en 1980 la cosecha fue excelente. Con el fenómeno punk y new wave a toda ebullición en Estados Unidos, el Reino Unido e incluso España, en este año apareció esta maravilla del Powerpop. Los Quincy parieron un Lp fantástico que bautizaron con el nombre del grupo y que contiene auténticas joyas 'Turn The Other Way Around’, 'Don’t Knock on my Door’, 'Dime Store Lies’ o 'Just a Tragedy’, auténticos hits en potencia de los que hoy se sigue disfrutando tanto como el primer día. Después de publicar esta maravilla parece que se les secó la inspiración y no se volvió a tener noticias de Quincy.

Formadas solo por chicas, con Paula Pierce de indiscutible lider, el grupo funcionó de 1983 hasta 1990, en sus filas se conocieron Kim Shattuck y Mealnie Vammen que después formarían las muffs.

En 1991, a los 31 años, Paula Pierce moría de una grave enfermedad.
